As the 2017 season comes to a close, we want to thank each one of you who curled at our facility this year! We are so grateful for each member and guest that either came back or tried curling for the first time. After two years of not having ice, the club returned and welcomed 172 members, up from 40 members a year ago when the club played in Mapleton at the Heather Curling Club.
The overall club championship was won by the Rheaume Rink, which was skipped by Greg Rheaume (shown in picture). The club also awarded championships for its four leagues.
- Sunday Night - Braun Rink
- Monday Night - Rheaume Rink
- Wednesday Night - Runing Rink
- Thursday Night - Hendrycks Rink
The Tuesday night "Junior Rocker" league (ages 6-senior in high school) welcomed over 40 participants.
There were two spiels hosted over the 2017 season with the Men's spiel having 16 teams and the "Bunny" spiel having 31 teams.
Three new board members were elected at the end of the year to three-year terms. Returning to the board Erik Siefkes (communications) and two new members, Adam Bleck and Joe Gangi were also elected. Mary Maidl was appointed to serve as the club's president and will serve a two-year term. Returning to the board include: Steve Carlson, Jennifer Haessley (Secretary, Events), Denise Luehmann (Finance), Andy Bobrytzke (Fundraising), Kevin Birr (Membership & Ice), and Melanie Rheaume ( House & Fundraising). Joe Flannery will return as the Junior Program Coordinator for the 2018 season.
Looking forward to the 2018 season! Good Curling!
