THANK YOU KIM RHEAUME!

The Mankato Curling Club would like to express our extreme gratitude to Kim Rheaume!  Kim served as our president from April 2015 to April 2017.  During this time, our club had many trying times and a bleak future.  Kim's persistence was key to a partnership with the city allowing us to secure a loan to purchase new ice equipment and new flooring.  She also played a key role in our fundraising drive in 2016 that saw over $220,000 being raised.  Kim and her husband, Greg, still continue to be vital roles in the club serving as the ice makers.  Thank you, Kim, for giving so much of your time, tears, and hard work during your presidency.

All three of the Juniors who curled at Junior Nationals this week are coming home with a medal.  Team Runing (Melissa Runing and Aly Deegan) qualified for the playoff round with an exciting extra-end tiebreaking game.  The High Performance team (Caiti Flannery) finished the round robin with a record of 5-2.  These two teams faced each other in the first round of the playoffs on Friday night.  The High Performance team was able to move on to the gold medal round where they fell to the gold medal winner.  Team Runing was able to win the bronze medal and Caiti Flanner ended the tournament with a silver medal.  The Mankato Curling Club is proud of these girls and wish them the best of luck.  Great curling, ladies!

Team Runing is still looking for help in raising funds to achieve their goals. Please consider making a donation to Team Runing by going to their go fund me page by clicking here.  Caiti Flannery's High Performance team has also qualfied for the 2017 National Championships in Everett, Washington held February 11 - 18.  Please follow this link here for more information on this great achievement.
