Mankato Curling Club's Aly Deegan and Cait Flannery will be part of Minnesota Women’s line up for entry in the 2016 Optimist U18 International Curling Championships. Flannery (Second) and Deegan (Lead) will be joined by Christine McMakin (Skip) and Emily Quello (Third). The team will be coached by Sandra McMakin.
The U18 Championships are an international curling championship designed to give young curlers the opportunity to grow and compete in their sport. The competition features teams from Japan, USA and across Canada.The 2015 and 2016 Optimist U-18 Curling Championships are being hosted at both the Jasper Place Curling Club and Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
